My songs are reappearing in my music library inspite of not adding it

I have a Apple Music Library with about 900 songs. On the 28th suddenly some old songs get added again and they show on top of my music list when I haven’t even used Apple Music at all. This has happened thrice. About a batch of 30-40 songs add again exactly at the same time as confirmed by iTunes on Mac.

Also, can you tell me how do I have duplicate Apple Music songs as you can only add Apple Music songs once? Inspite of deleting them they keep reappearing. Also the cloud icon you mentioned states that the particular song hasn’t been downloaded on the device and has nothing to do with this issue. Didn’t expect this answer from Apple.

Hi advikm,

I understand you are seeing old songs being re-added to your iTunes Library.

I would recommend removing these songs from your Apple Music library.

Additionally, ensure they are not located in the iTunes Media Folder. You can check by going to: Macintosh HD > Users > [User] > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media > Music > [Artist] > [Album].

It may also be worth updating your macOS if possible. You can learn how to do so here: How to update the software on your Mac.

Hope this helps!
