I’m on an iPhone family plan and every time I open my messages it asks me if I want to add a number to my iMessage and FaceTime. How do I get this to go away?

Question for you. Is that telephone number a familiar telephone number to you? If YES then you are probably sharing your Apple ID with the other person and you should stop that by having your own Apple ID. If it is YOUR number that keeps appearing then you should accept it and add it. If that number is not recognized by you then consider changing your Apple ID password because your Apple ID and Password may be compromised.

I’m on a family share plan the number that keeps popping up I do recognize but I don’t want to get off the family share plan because then I’ll lose my pictures my music my iCloud everything I’m on it for a reason I just need to know how to get that number to stop popping up
Does family share plan mean that you are sharing the same Apple ID with others? If YES then, from your responses, I am assuming that none of you have activated iMessages or FaceTime. Is that correct? If YES then you will continue to get that prompt every now and then.
