HDCP error

Along with countless others, I, too, get the HDCP error message when trying to play a purchased film/tv show through my Apple TV. I have unplugged everything, restarted everything, reset my AppleTV to factory settings, stood on one leg singing God Save The Queen backwards (in Swahili) and still the darned thing doesn’t work. This is obviously a widespread problem so please can somebody, once and for all, solve it? And please don’t say unplug/change cables etc because I really have been there, done that. Also, I can mirror the screen on my iPad to my TV but as soon as I try to play the film I get the “this media is not supported” message. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

HDCP is a DRM copy protection system aimed as people not being able to copy copy right protected material

age of the appletv should not result in something like that, it would seem more likely that faulty connectors in tv or appletv or cable causing it not to be able to verify the encryption being intact.
