How do I remove my phone number from old iphone that I want to use as ipod with other apple ID

I switched iphones and want to let my daughter use my 6plus as ipod with her own apple ID. So far all is set up but I can't activate iMessage and Facetime, though I've tried switching it off and rebooting and I saw that it lists my phone number still under settings/Phone. However I can't delete this phone number that should not me associated with this phone anymore from this old phone.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

Hey there, and welcome to Apple Support Communities, Lausmadel_Euroisland!

From my understanding, you’d like to remove the number that is listed on an old iPhone for iMessage and FaceTime. We’d be happy to help out!

You mentioned that you used this device previously, so we’d recommend ensuring that the SIM for the iPhone is no longer inserted. You can do that using: Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you don't use a SIM card with your iPhone, and you're unable to tap on the phone number in Settings > Phone to remove the number, then hit "Save", it may still be associated with this number via your carrier. You can try restoring the iPhone using: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support Once complete, set it up as new using the Apple ID that you set up for your daughter.

Cheers!
