Password recovery

After several failed attempts to login ( forgot my password) to my macbook pro. I am not prompted to recover my password using my apple id. Infact it won't give me any option even after entering wrong passwd over 10 times

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

I tried all those and nothing worked but luckily my memory kicked in and I remembered my password and was able to login and change to password easier for me to remember.
