Apple ID change

I got a new phone today and changed my apple id prior to getting the new phone. On my new iphone it still says my apple id is the old one. I changed my password too, and it will not let me sign out of my Apple ID to input the new email and password. It says that my phone is still restoring and that my iCloud has paused. So, I cannot do anything to try to fix this.

Are you seeing activation lock? If yes, see: See Turn off Activation Lock https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201441

Since you acquired your device second hand, you usually will need to obtain the needed password from the person that last set it up. If you can’t obtain it, in the rare case your device came activation locked from an authorized Apple seller, then contact Apple Support and present your original purchase receipt for your device with the device’s serial number on it. You’ll need a photo ID too. If you can do neither, then the device is useless to you.

You can use the suggested support options below if you have the needed receipt. Alternatively, if an Apple Store is open in your area, then you can go there to deal with your problem. In this case, you can make a genius-bar appointment (https://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/) if you want.

Some other things you can try. Do you have access to another WiFi network where you can try? That has worked for several people.

Try a restart.

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Try a forced restart.

Reset Device.

If necessary

Hard reset.

Do a backup and try a factory reset. Then restore from your backup.

Restore to Factory setting.

Backup - Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup.
