On forgetting my passcode i did a restore operation through itunes using my appleid. it appeared that the ipad was restored to its factory defaults. ut on restoriation it is asking for activation lock details.
i entered my apple id but it says, it is not the same as the one used while setting the ipad.
i dont have any other apple id, is the cloud id difffereent from apple id?

The iCloud ID is your Apple ID. Are you the original owner of the iPad (you bought it new)? If the iPad is Activation Locked, on the lock page, there is a hint of the ID used to set up the device, which looks like y*****@outlook.com Does that hint look like an email you may have used at the time you set up the device, if you set it up from new?
OK...That helps. When you set up the iPad, you created an ID using an icloud email address. you likely used the same front end of the email address as you might use for your gmail address. Try entering it that way.

actually my appleid is of the form ******@gmail.com and the activation lock is hinting at v****@icloud.com
is there a seperate icloud id? the starting letter is v for my name but i dont remeber this icloud id. :(
and i am the original owner of the ipad.
