I accidentally removed my Macintosh HD option from available backup discs in Time Machine. I want to put it back on the backup disc list so I can continue backing it up but can not figure out how.

I'll try to help you, Camis90. From the Time Machine menu which looks like a clock, Open Time Machine Preferences, or go to System Preferences, then Time Machine, click on " Select Disk/ Select Backup Disk" or "Add/Remove Backup Disk", and then "point" it to the Disk you want to use. then click on "Use Disk" . You may wish to turn on Encrypt Backup Disk, and that's it

Do you have an external drive connected?
Macintosh HD should not be used as a backup drive.
Unfortunately I have tried that. There is no option to add a backup disk only select and the HD disk is not listed.
Yes an external airport utility. I reinstalled a backup copy I had through migration but it didn’t add the HD back into the Time Machine. I thought it would.
Oh so just a Networked Drive? Like a Time Capsule?
Does it show up anywhere in Finder?
