My Apple s d card reader will import the pictures on the card to my iPhone XR but not to my iPad air2. Can anyone help?

Yes, tried that, but didn’t change anything. Also checked that I had plenty of spare storage left on the iPad so still at a lose as to what is wrong. No problem loading same s d card to my iPhone and checked that iPhone and iPad have the same settings but info will not load on iPad.
