How to upgrade iCloud storage using Apple ID credit

I am trying to upgrade my iCloud storage to 200GB using my store credit which I am using now for 50GB of storage for $0.99. However, I am unable to select Apple ID account as payment method and it is asking for my credit card information which I am trying to avoid using. Any suggestions how to manage I cloud storage using Apple store credit .

Welcome to the Apple Community.

You can use your credit balance but if there isn't enough on any occasion they will want to have a card on record to take it from.
