IPhone locked on start screen zoomed in

Unnable to log in to my phone all day. Screen unresponsive to touch and zoomed in. When I press the power button and the volume button to restart I could see the power of slider and the emergency SOS slider but couldn’t slide them as the screen was unresponsive. This was especially problematic because I was in the wilderness and couldn’t update my family.

i think I know what helped get it out of this impossible situation: press both volume buttons and power button until SOS alarm sounds. Annoying as heck but after that i I was able to log in.

Only problem is I am now locked out of my iPhone for 53 minutes because of too many login attempts! Annoying!!!!!!!

I see that others have had this problem too but never saw a reply that worked. (I saw closed discussions that said solved however.)
