Adding attachments as files on iPhone

How do you add photos and files as icons rather than embedded on an iPhone?

iPhone XR, iOS 13

PeeteeM,

The above article shows the only ways you can attach a file to an email on an iPhone. There is no setting that can be adjusted to change how email attachments are attached to emails on an iPhone.

Just figured out that if you save a photo as a file first and then insert it into the email, it is attached as an icon rather than embedded.

This detail simply shows how to attached photos and files. Already know how to do that. Need to know what controls the mode of the attachment to generte an Icon. Had to modify the code on the Mac Book to make it o this. Is there a similar control code on an iphone?
