LG 5k Ultrafine Monitor; USB-C failing : dead/flickering or push harder

Read about in multiple places, but nobody able to really pin-point it. Seems poor LG USB-C port. After 1yr when warranty expired, the USB-C port for monitor connection seems to fail. There would be still charge to the laptop, but no video. When moving cable slightly up, the screen would start catching some picture or rather flicker, when pushing harder the video holds, but this is unusable. You can try to tape it as temporary solution, but ultimately this requires visit at LG repair service.
