How do I silence the alarm without the app switching to the clock/alarm app?

How do I silence the alarm without the app switching to the clock/alarm app? I absolutely HATE the way an alarm interupts what I am listening to or watching, and then hijacks to phone, switching to the alarm/clock app. Why can't I just turn it off (not snooze) without being kicked out of the app I am in?

Several alarms going off on my iPhone I tried to set a simple wake up alarm on my phone this week and was informed I had to set up the SLEEP APP. I do not want to do that at this time. However I now have several alarms going off. How do I get my device to the point where I can set up an ALARM without the intrusiveness of Sleep APP [Re-Titled by Moderator]
