How do I reset my restrictions passcode on my ipad?

My older iPad is running ios 10.3.3. My parents set a restrictions passcode on it when I got it and have forgotten it. I want to reset it so I can use it on my Apple ID account but I can’t do that without the restrictions passcode that we don’t know. I’ve tried resetting it from iTunes but it prompts me to turn off find my iPhone on it first. But I can turn off find my iPhone without the restrictions passcode! Please help!

Hello Mounteverett,

It sounds like the restrictions passcode was forgotten and now you want to reset the device. For this you do have to erase the device, there is a certain process you will need to follow. When Find My is not removed prior to erase devices will become activation lock, This can be removed if you know the Apple ID password. Check out these links for support.

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Turn off Activation Lock

Cheers!
