I’ve recently purchased an IPad Air to do work easier. I previously borrowed an IPad Pro while this was on its way. I discovered that you can drag a tab in Chrome and merge it into Microsoft Word and PowerPoint so I don’t have to constantly switch between the two. I was wondering if this is possible in the IPad Air?

I presume that you refer to Slide Over or Split Screen functions of iPadOS? If so, yes, if your iPad Air is running iPadOS 13.x, you can use these multitasking features.
