iPad vs iPad Air for flow charts, markup, whiteboarding

Hi all, with work-from-home the new norm, I need a better way to interact with my customers. I do a lot of flow charts, network design diagrams, and presentations. I frequently need the ability to whiteboard complex ideas and simplify them over web conferencing platforms such as Zoom and WebEx. I have tried doing this with my old Bamboo pad but the quality of the drawings are crude. I often wish I could markup presentations or quickly flip to a whiteboard and draw something out when someone has questions. I saw someone else do this recently in a presentation and they were using an iPad, the quality of their diagrams and markups was incredible compared to my Bamboo pad. So I am looking into getting an iPad for work.

My question is around selecting the correct iPad. I don't do artistic work, and my drawing needs are purely limited to drawing diagrams and flow charts, or marking up documents/presentations. I understand the current-gen iPad and iPad Air works with the Pencil Gen 1.

Am I missing anything that would give me a better experience with my above use cases by selecting an iPad instead of the iPad Air?

I think the Pro and the Pencil Gen 2 are probably overkill for what I need but open to this if there is a clear benefit for what I do.

I am a Mac Book Pro user and my MBP does support sidecar. I would like to use this as much as possible for convenience.
