Darn. I suppose you could try doing a reset smc/pmu and zap pram on your 2014 MacBook Pro. If you had done a back-up of your 2014 MacBook Pro via Time Machine, You could have used Migration Assistant, pointed it to that, and let it do its thing.

for the reset smc/pmu, seeing as how your MacBook Pro 2014 doesn't have the T2 security chip in it.....shut down your 2014 MacBook Pro, hold down the following keys on your keyboard:: Control and Option (alt) on the left side of your keyboard, Shift on the right side of the keyboard, hold them down for about 15 seconds, then while you are holding down those 3 keys, hold down the power button for 15 seconds, then let go of all keys and the power button, then wait 10 seconds and press power button to start it up. Immediately hold down Apple-Option-P-R together for 3 restarts, then let go and let the computer start up as per usual

AHH....I see you have Yosemite...........Now it's clear. Yosemite had problems with WiFi as in didn't work at all.

here's a link to the Yosemite Update that's supposed to improve WiFi reliability

hopefully it still works......

and here's a link to the 10.10.3 combo updater

https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1805?locale=en_CA

and a link to the 10.10.4 combo updater.....

https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1820?locale=en_US

If you check under "About this Mac" it should tell you what version of the OS you have. If it's just straight 10.10, then going for the 10.10.4 combo update should solve your wifi problems (fingers crossed)

well, it was worth a try anyways
