When I look at introduction page for new Big Sur of it clearly states: iMac 2014 and above, but if I click on the link it says 2012 and above? So which one is it, and will late 2013 iMacs be able to run it?

It's a travesty that they chose not to support the late 2013 imac.... a paltry 2014 21.5 i.4ghz i5 with a mechanical drive gets support but not a 3.5ghz i7 battle tank with ssd and 4GB graphics card... Ridiculous, Apple should be ashamed. It's absolute BS.

I’m may be not 100% right. I’m guessing a bit like we all. In my eyes is gpu features but may be other. That’s the point in the discussion to find why if is possible.
I think so too. It has to be something related to gpu. In fact, already in catalina the sidecar function does not work in the iMac of the end of 2013.
And a 2013 MacBook Air as well gets the update!?!? I don’t understand as well. I really hope my 2013 Core i7 27” iMac will be compatible.
I know it’s not compatible but why not. What’s the reason. If it was because the gpu or cpu constraining the update or something. Maybe you didn’t understand the statement in the the original post???
