Remote device wipe by company deleted my iCloud PERSONAL backup

Hi!

Do you have experience with situation explained below (I'm copy-pasting because I explained it to Apple three times in the last few days);

I'm not satisfied with solving of my Apple case complaint.

Company that I work did remote device wipe, and it deleted

my PERSONAL iCloud backup (apps, settings etc…). My apple ID is not business

e-mail or in any way connected with business and corporate data. Purpose of iCloud

backup is when something like that happens that I can restore all my personal data

from backup.

When I turned on my iPhone on after this happened, there was

no backup saved, and I couldn't restore my data. Apple support was extremely

unhelpful and not providing me an explanation except that there was no security

breach and that it's my fault because i NEVER did iCloud backup. That is simply

not true because backup is done almost every day automatically (when i plug my

phone to charger on WiFi). Also, how is it possible that I have all my photos

saved to iCloud, but not iCloud backup with dana such as my acconts, documents,

Home configuration and settings. It's not possible or logical.

I accept the fact that my company has a right to remotely

device wipe corporate data (only corporate data on my iPhone was a business Outlook

e-mail accont) but I can't accept that Apple support is claiming that I never

did iCloud backup because that is NOT TRUE. Apple support did nothing - your

agent today, on 23rd June provided me the same information I told him 4 days

ago – that my company did remote device wipe and after that all my backups were

deleted. He repeated that Apple engineers did some kind of investigation and concluded

that there was no backup EVER. It is very hard to believe that company such as

Apple has engineers that can't technically manage to check dates and time of my

backup to iCloud. What if I have proof that I did backup before and you are

claiming that never happened? What then?

Apple support didn't provide me any more information than

what I told them 4 days ago. I'm very concerned about that for my possible future

purchases from Apple.

I'm loyal to iPhone for years and until now I was satisfied with

all services. This is the first time I'm having some kind of issue, and nobody

helped me.

It really doesn't matter if my data will be restored or not

because I'm tired of explaining it the third time to Apple, I just want you to

explain me what happened on June 18th and restore iCloud backup from any day

before that, if device wipe caused that iCloud backup that day wasn't done properly.

Welcome to the Apple Community.

If your company was able to wipe your phone, it will be because it is theirs and they have installed their own profile on it. Wiping the phone is something they will most likely have every right to do.

That being said, wiping the phone won't do anything at all to the data on iCloud. They cannot wipe any backups you made. If there are no backups in your cloud, you either never made any or wiped them yourself.

Thanks!

Everything that you said makes sense.

But, I didn't wipe my backups, any of them :) And my backups were performed almost daily, automatically every time i connectd my phone to charger.

And if I wiped the latest backup, there should be other (older versions) backups that I could choose to restore from :)

So, I'm asking for advice what to do, because I'm not an idiot who deleted all my previouse backups and have nothing useful to do except making stories up for Apple support team. I genuenly want to find out how it happened.

Ok, great.

But I didn't delete my backup, backup wasn't there after my company's remote device wipe so my questions are:

1) Why is Apple claiming that I never did my iCloud backup? I've been using iPhone devices since iPhone 3GS so it's crazy that they claim I NEVER did a backup.

2) Will Apple restore my data because I didn't delete it myself? Or at least say when was last succesful backup completed?

3) Does Apple have some kind of security issue because my company's MDM rules (remote device wipe) erased my personal iCloud backup (Apple's service) - and to who can I report it? Or my company device wipe rules breached some kind of security?

P.S. Of course Apple has my data. It’s their service, their servers, their technical architecture etc.

I work in a similar business so you dont need to tell me fairytales :)

I have complete trust that Apple is not breaking any laws/rules and I think that Apple has the strongest security/privacy practises in whole industry but nobody can tell me that iCloud data is ‘mine’.

The worst thing for me is that Apple support can’t/won’t explain one simple technical question

I didn’t delete my iCloud backup

Then someone else did. Using your Apple ID and password and possibly a verification code.

iCloud backup disappeared after my company did device wipe (iPhone restarted like it was a new phone, and no backups were available)

Then your company must have had your Apple ID, password and possibly a verification code.

There are no other ways, as has been patiently explained, to erase your iCloud backups from Apple's secure servers.
