Cannot backup

Last time I backed up, my iPhone 11 wasn’t backing up, I deleted my old backup through My Name > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > My Backup > Delete


I tried backing up, it backed up 63 out of 64GB used on my iPhone 1.5 iCloud Storage used out of 5, it backed up.


Now when I deleted my old backup & tried to backup, It keeps estimating time. I clicked backup, closed my device, after a few hours it said “iPhone cannot be backed up because there is not enough iCloud Storage” (174 used out of 5 & 34,4GB left out of 64).


Why is it not backing now & it could then?

Running iOS 13.5.1



Is it a problem with my device or a problem with Apple servers?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand you're running into an issue backing up your iPhone to iCloud. I know how important backing up is, and I'm happy to help get this resolved.


To start, check out the size of your next backup by going to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups > [Your device], from there you should be able to see the size of the next backup. If it's more than what's currently available in iCloud, you can purchase additional iCloud storage or manage what is backed up. You can manage what's backed up from that same screen under "Choose data to back up".


If you want to purchase additional iCloud storage you can see how to do that here: Buy more iCloud storage


If your next backup isn't over the available iCloud space, check out other steps to resolve backup issues here: If you can't back up to iCloud or restore from iCloud backup failed
