Whatsapp Notification Dots

Hi,

I got a new Apple Watch yesterday at the same time as a new SE.

When I receive WhatsApp notifications to the watch and read/dismiss them, the notification dot on the WhatsApp icon on the phone does not disappear.

It it seems like the banner and notification centre alerts are being removed when I read the message on the watch, but the dot is staying there, and when I open a chat it takes me back to the top of the “unread” messages.

This only seems to change if I actually reply to the WhatsApp message from the watch.

Apple Support just said they couldn’t help as it was a third party app.

Anyone any ideas?
