Find my phone sound never works

So is the iPhone 6s not supported anymore?

Any time I’m an idiot and in a rush and try the iCloud “play a sound” option, it NEVER works. It was under my bed, on the same WiFi as my laptop, 57% charged. Why in God’s name doesn’t this work, ever???

Do I just need to upgrade?
