iPad lost power while filming. How to recover video?

Hello!

As it says in the title, my iPad died while filming a video. Now, when I pull up the camera there’s a black square where the previous video in camera roll is usually visible but it’s not present in photos. It does seem to take up some of my storage but I don’t know how to access the file. Is there a way? I just used the normal camera app.

iPad mini 4, iOS 12

This quite a common issue with video files when the recording process is interrupted for some reason. Basically, your video recording app couldn't finalize the file. However, there is still a chance that the video can be recovered. You just need to use a video repair tool, like Restore.Media. It pulls out the remaining video and audio data from the file and then builds it into a new valid video. This tools works online, so you'll probably be able to repair your video straight from your iPad.
