No signal on external display

I have a new macbook pro 13 2020 (10th gen), and Im unable to make it work with my external display (samsung cfg791) unless I reconnect my display to the electricity power source while being connected to the MBP, it’ll work til next shutdown/disconnection.

my other laptop works fine with the same display and cable (MBP 15 2019)

I tried SMC and NVRAM reset. it didnt help, I also tried reinstall Catalina from recovery, still nothing.

Please advise...

The issue has been resolved by replacing the cable to some another higher quality alternative.

The cable type is USB-C to DisplayPort which is connected directly from the MBP port to the back of the monitor port.

Hello Jak0ps,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to use your Samsung display with your new MacBook Pro as expected, even after trying some good troubleshooting steps and isolating with another computer. To help with this, please follow the relevant steps in this Apple resource on this situation and then contact Apple if you need any further assistance.
