Transferring photos on a iPad mini 4

Do I need a camera adaptor to transfer photos from my camera into the iPad. I previously had a 1st generation iPad and needed a camera adaptor any ideas please

Hi Lotus pilot. Thank you for attaching the links on the various adaptors this has helped me a lot. I will do a search on Amazon first before looking at Apple. I know what people say if you go by Apple at least it works. I have in the past looked at HDMI adaptorS between TV and MacBooks and I haven’t had an issues. Thanks again. jnscts
