I have an Apple Watch series 3.
I need to clear some storage in order to update my software.
As you can see from the picture above my usage says I’m using 1.7 GB of data but I have only 1 3rd party app,
no music, photos limited to 25, no audio books, no podcast. I’m running out of ideas.
My goal is to reach at least 3.1GB of free storage.

Unpair your Apple Watch via the Watch app on your iPhone.
Then Re-pair your Apple Watch,this deletes temporary and corrupted files and also re-indexes the file system freeing up a surprisingly large amount of storage space.

I don't have an Apple Watch yet, but I would restore to factory to see if that frees up your space. I don't imagine it's like an iPhone where you lose all your information. I am sure you can restore everything back on rather quickly.
Good morning. You could un-sync some items to free up space and re-sync after update. Made sense?
