It is not clear here in your post about the ambient temperature in your area where you are using the iPhone. However --> Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable ...
Store the device where the temperature is between -20º and 45º C (-4º to 113º F). Don’t leave the device in your car, because temperatures in parked cars can exceed this range.
Use iOS devices where the ambient temperature is between 0º and 35º C (32º to 95º F). Low- or high-temperature conditions might cause the device to change its behavior to regulate its temperature. Using an iOS device in very cold conditions outside of its operating range might temporarily shorten battery life and could cause the device to turn off. Battery life will return to normal when you bring the device back to higher ambient temperatures. Using an iOS device in very hot conditions can permanently shorten battery life.

Hello, have you tried using the phone with screen brightness on full then do exactly the same on the phone but with screen brightness on low. Mine doesn’t get hot on the low setting but obvs can’t see the screen properly.
I figured out something interesting today! Looks like the heating issue was due to the transparent case which I was using all these days, just removed it last night and until now the phone is cool even on low battery!!!!
Hello, I’m having the same problem . Have you managed to get yours resolved?
Did not do any thing, but it seems like the issue is resolved by itself, might be due to the high temperature during the summer which some times reaches near 50 degree celsius!!
I’m in the uk and it’s been like this since new...
Thinking to contact apple in case the issue persists and hope they will do the trouble shoot to check if there is a software issue!!
Please do as I have been on to them for weeks and they have no idea why it’s doing it. My phone was reset t factory settings and still had a problem. It’s not hardware or software from what Apple say
Tried to contact them through the chat box and its taking more time than usual to connect, might be due to covid situation. Will try to contact them again..
Oh that’s good to hear. Tried that with mine but I think mine is due to the screen brightness.
