My iPhone X is also getting really hot and the battery is running out far quicker since upgrading to iOS 13.5.1
I only use a couple of apps and check emails, nothing different since before the upgrade. Not getting through a normal day without having to charge it.
Really disappointing as I changed my phone because the battery life was so fire.
