Unable to view an order status on my iPad Pro

I placed an order via the online Apple store using my MacBook Pro and checked out as a guest rather than using my Apple ID account as I was buying a new iPad for business and wanted to use my business credit card. I received a confirmation email from Apple. A few days later, in this email, I clicked the link to check my 'order status' and it sent me to a tracking order screen which showed me a delivery date, great!


A few days later I was on my iPad Pro and clicked the same link in the same email to see it my order had been dispatched. My screen the read "Your Order does not match the Apple ID that is currently signed in. Please view your order details on apple.com". So I clicked the apple.com hyperlink and it asked me to sign in with my Apple ID, so I did. It came up saying "This order does not match your Apple ID"


So am I right in saying that every time I want to buy an Apple product online using a credit card and I want to track my order, then I can only use a MacBook? But if I want to use my iPad, but still be able to track my order, I have to make my purchase via my personal Apple ID even though its a business purchase?


Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue? I really want to keep business payments separate from my personal payments and Apple ID.

Thanks for responding, I tried that but no use. What I really don't understand, which is pretty stupid for Apple, is that when I go to apple.com and sign in, the message comes up saying "Your Apple ID does not match this order. Please sign out, then sign in again using the Apple ID associated with this order"


Come on Apple, use your brain!! This order was placed as a guest with NO associated Apple ID, you should know this because you gave me the choice when I placed my order. Apple need to offer a sign in for a guest with email, so a guest can track their order!!! Not rocket science really.


I guess I will have to phone them and tell them.
