Dual vs Quad core

Hello, Im going into university next year, the program for my science labs (labster) requires at least a 2.0 GHz dual-core processor to run the program. However would a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor work for the program (in a MacBook Air 2020). Thanks :)

That requirement seems rather vague to me. All else being equal a quad-core CPU is obviously more capable than a dual-core CPU.

I suggest you go to the source and find out what its system requirements are. From what little I have been able to determine their products are browser-based so it stands to reason any system that can run a browser ought to work. If a product requires a more capable computer than any one of Apple's current MacBook Air models then its market will be practically nonexistent.
