HomePod not connecting from Mac when connected to office VPN.

when your computer connects to a vpn (virtual private network) all data goes through a tunnel across the internet to your works network, and your computer is as much on the work network as if you had gone to work with the computer.

so it's no longer on the same network as any homepod, appletv or the likes

HomePod does not support VPN networking.

I'll just add that AirPods use a BlueTooth connection.

yeah if the vpn client support it

some of the more advanced like ciscos would be a good bet, but usually what client one use depend on what vpn server ones company use.
