Third party notifications on apple watch

When I am not connected to my phone (away from my phone) and I am on a different wifi network (my phone is on my home network and my watch is on a different network) will I still receive third party notifications if my phone is on, but not connected via bluetooth or the same wifi network? Or do i need to either be connected to my phone or on same wifi to receive them. Thanks

Hi japplest,

Thank you for posting your question. It sounds like you want to know about receiving notifications on your Apple Watch when you don't have your iPhone nearby.

This could vary by app. Generally speaking though, it sounds like the text below from the resource titled Use your Apple Watch without your iPhone nearby should answer your question:

"If your watch is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular

When your iPhone is off or out of range, your Apple Watch can use a Wi-Fi network to send and receive data. And if your watch is equipped with cellular, it can connect to a cellular network.

If your Apple Watch is connected to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi icon  appears in Control Center. If it's connected to cellular, the cellular icon  appears. Learn how to set up cellular."

You'll find additional details about this in the link I posted above, including how specific functions might work.

Take care.
