China Model vs US model on newer phones
Why is it that the newer iPhones are going away from having TD-SCDMA? The China Model iPhones still have TD-SCDMA bands like the new 2020 SE model but the unlocked version from Apple that you might buy won’t have TD-SCDMA. I’m seriously thinking of getting a China model for my next phone. All the previous Unlocked versions of the iPhones used to have it. I’m sure my iPhone 6 and 7 have TD-SCDMA right now. I think they think they will just phase out of using those bands in the US but I seriously doubt it. I know that new technologies are all 4G and LTE based to where even the CDMA companies like Sprint and a Verizon had to rent space on GSM 4G LTE networks in the beginning from AT&T until T-Mobile was able to install their own LTE antenna system. It drove the 2 CDMA carriers to start using SIM cards like the GSM carriers. It’s practically impossible to get a phone made exclusively for another country but I hope I can find one, so I can upgrade to the newest model. I have an iPhone 7 and Apple already switched out my phone for a repair which bothers me. I paid to repair the screen but they replaced my Unlocked iPhone. Doesn’t sit well with me at all. I’m sure that I would have less coverage without those bands if I upgraded to a newer model. So Where can I get a China model iPhone SE 2nd Generation A2298? Maybe I should call Apple instead. Does anyone have any advice?
