Hi I’m having a similar issue and hoping you can help I bought a used iPhone 14 with an eSim that is showing as Sim locked with no mention of a carrier and it says 55.0 where the carrier should be. I am super confused and have called multiple carriers trying to get it unlocked with no help.

Most likely this was a fluke. Technology is complicated. Stuff happens.
Just because you replaced your iPhone with one from Apple, and it worked, that doesn’t really mean anything. You could have just as easily replaced your iPhone instead of demanding a refund, and everything would probably have been fine.
Apple has lots of issues, just like everyone else. I’ve had Apple representatives lied to my face on more than one occasion. One time, the rep made up stuff right on the spot. Stuff that was simply ridiculous. As a policy, Apple does not admit mistakes–which is of course absurd. Everyone makes mistakes.
There is only the following:
"Network PRovider": "51.0.1"
There isn't a "network" field.
Yet, my iphone is carrier locked (it explicitly says so in the Settings), and I'm not able to use my local sim in the UAE
(phone is a USA model).
Kind of directionless here now. :/
That “50.0.1” is the carrier settings version number. Your actual carrier name should be listed next to NETWORK. In the end, a carrier is the company that provides the cellular/mobile service to your iPhone. You pay your service bills to your carrier. Either look on the bill or on your carrier’s website to learn how to contact them.

How do I unlock a SIM card for my phone ?
How is it locked?
Mr Finch can you please help me out? I seem to have the same issue with my iPhone 7 Plus l. It’s displaying no Sims restrictions & carrier 50.0 also network has Home next to it. I put my SIM card in the iPhone, which it’s originally was in a Samsung phone. I so need to get this going back up and running as I do work online. Anything you can do to help me out is greatly appreciated! Or anyone knows what to do in order to help me.
You will have to ask whoever sold you the phone. If you go to Settings/General/About what does it say for Carrier Lock?
I don’t know what the carrier is, can you help? All it says is, Carrier 50.0 and the carrier is locked….
Please I need help with this connection sharing configuration on my iPhone 6s
Hi my phone says Network Provider 51.0.1
I bought it in Dubai and intend to use it in India. If someone kniws pleelet me know if it's unlocked or a locked phone?
Here's a screenshot of the settings.
Yes it was an unlocked phone and not a problem at all. I just deleted that SIM Profile Originally it was a verizone phone, i deleted verizone sim profile then this 50.0.1 was a sort of dummy profile and after back to india i added my operator's ESIM then that 50.0.1 was gone.
I have iphone 6S plus, where carrier 50.0.1, I been with Tmobile for years, I want to unlock the phone, said can't unlock it because this carrier on phone isn't there, please let me know how to get this phone unlock so i can use it outside the US.
50.0.1 is not a real carrier; it is a placeholder when there is no carrier and is used to engineering testing.
50.0.1 can also be a modem version or carrier update version rather than a carrier, so where are you seeing it?
I also have the similar problem. It says "No SIM Restrictions" but when i check the first eSim slot i see carrier: iPhone 56.0 is there. Is iPhone 56.0 also dummy carrier name here or else how to find the carrier?
There's no "NETWORK" field, how to look for the network?
