Sorry if I insist: are you logged in?
I'm asking because, odd as it may seem, you have to login before you can turn it off.
As said it seems that you have to log in in order to subsequently turn FaceTime off (strange procedure).
I'd give it a try. If it doesn't work, you simply log out again.
Yes, the turn off is enabled after login.... but still molested by some "features" when turning FT off
My address book has on each contact an FaceTime line even when I have it turned off, the camera and the microphone goes on even not signed in... a total mess.
Pity that Apple does not allow to remove this (and some other) app!
Is this thread helpful: https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/303153/macos-10-13-facetime-preferences-greyed-out
Try to send a feedback to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macos.html
Unfortunately there's no specific FaceTime feedback form.
Marco, not really helpful as I don't have an USB camera.
Maybe some command line solution to it turn off?
I'm not aware of a terminal command for FaceTime.
Is FaceTime's Preferences... accessible and are you logged in iCloud?
There is nothing related to FaceTime or iMessage.
Hi Marco,
I'm not logged in, I want to completely switch off FT because:
a) I use Wire
b) beeng logged in FT and my phone was ringing, the iPad and Mac were ringing too -:(
Ha,
do you really think that someone is reading the feedbacks?
Maybe a machine is creating some statistics based on topic.
