the exclamation key does not work on 2018 MacBook pro or my apple keyboard. I can copy and paste from and existing document, I have used the Apple key generator and does not work their as well. and the bottom seems to be bulging, does not sit flat.

When or if an Apple Store, or Apple Authorized Service Center reopens near you, I recommend scheduling an appointment for them to look at the issues you mention. We are fellow users, so cannot address potential issues with inoperable keyboard key, or potential battery enlargement issue.
I found the issue there is a limited recall on my 2018 MacBook Pro that has keyboard/os issues. taking it in next week
Great looks like the 2015 and earlier issue of a bulging battery is back, and as far as the keyboard issue it is an OS issue, I have the macbook pro keyboard and an apple bluetooth keyboard both have the same issue, Updated when it happened by reinstalling the OS worked for a short time. Was hoping for a logical answer, maybe related to the bulging. the strange part is the Mac has been on a desk and not moved for 4 months. thank you for your quick response and recommendation.
