How to import a list from anywhere into reminders
I use reminders lists to share store shopping lists with my wife. One feature that is sort of lacking is the ability to create a list in Excel, or Google sheets, or even notepad and copy it into reminders.. BUT I FOUND A WAY. This way works well from an iDevice, but I'll explain the 'computer way' since it requires an extra step. (step 1 and 2)...
- Create your list somewhere, preferably as a simple text document. Don't try to get fancy, just type each item and press enter. You can also copy a list into a text document. Just figure out some way to make a list you want.
- Now, open up icloud.com in a browser on the computer, and copy / paste the list into NOTES. Not Reminders... NOTES. Once you do this, you need to select the list with your mouse, and click the "Checkbox" at the top of the page. This will convert your list into a list of checkbox items. Now, reselect the list of now-checkbox items copy. Switch from Notes to Reminders on icloud.com and paste it into your Reminder list. You should end up with one item on each line.
