Does Apple TV 4K upscale 1080p YouTube?

I understand that the Apple TV 4K will be able to play the latest YouTube 4K videos in 4K with TVOS 14.

but my question is:

Does the current Apple TV 4K upscale 480/720/1080p YouTube video?

It will output at the resolution you have set during setup and if the content is of a lower resolution it will then be upscaled. You can also set it to match dynamic range and frame rate.
