ipad restore keeps failing

I have been trying to restore my sons iPad using iTunes following the instructions for an iPad with a home button. I get to the point where it downloads the software but the iPad never actually restores. I have tried about 6 times over 2 days. Can anyone help please?

ipad restore issues Hi everyone, So I am having some trouble restoring my iPad, I am unsure which gen exactly it is but it still has a home button. I have turned it off, connected it to my computer while holding the home button to bring up the restore screen, it popped up in iTunes and I have clicked restore iPad, however nothing happens.
