iPhone 11 (13.5.1) - thermalmonitord - Error Failed to read `pkg-avg-limiter-input-w2r

Putting this out there, I'm not seeing a lot people reporting this, only a handful of reports on google in the last few months with no solutions noted.

Today my iPhone 11 decided that it wasn't going to let me launch or switch between any apps. It would like me work within the Mail app, but that's it. I could see notifications but not launch anything.

Via Console while trying to troubleshoot I saw the phone throwing Errors related to thermalmonitord

I had to force the phone to reboot, and the messages continued after. Battery at the time was 25% and the phone wasn't warm to the touch.

IDK what's up, thought I'd capture my experience in the event someone else runs into this. Over the last few weeks I've had to restore my apple devices a few times to address odd behavior. My phone was restored via iTunes last month, and the backups NOT used.

Hello Jason,

Thanks for reaching out on the Apple Support Communities. From your message it sounds like you're having an issue with your iPhone 11 not responding when you go to switch between apps.

From the information you provided about the troubleshooting we can see that you've completed the steps listed at the top of this article: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

With the notifications appearing, see if this article helps: If the screen isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad

If the issue persists where you're unable to access the app switcher, Contact Apple Support.

All the best.
