So I have a MacBook Air 2018 and I have been wanting to replace it with an iPad Pro but one the is, I have the LG 5k monitor and if you plug a Mac into the monitor you are able to close your Mac if you have a connected keyboard and mouse and still use it like a standard desktop. I was wondering if the iPad can do the very same thing.

At this time iPad can only mirror its display to an external display meaning that you could not lock iPad’s screen and solely use it from the external display.
