I want to watch a movie on my apple tv from my MacBook pro using superdrive and airplay. It's not working. No video but there is audio

you can't because its illegal

airplay strip the hdcp DRM of the dvd or Blu-ray movie and that is not legal so

apple comply with the law and block it, the fact that you own the material is irrelevant, they block it

so you are unable to copy it and distribute it
