airpod wont charge

one of my airpods doesnt charge. this keeps changing from the left to the right one, its not just 1 airpod. sometimes they both charge or only 1 doesnt, but atleast one always works. i cleaned both airpods and the inside of the case. i also charge the case with the airpods and i reset my phone and airpods multiple times. resetting it does nothing.
