how to mount .dsk files / what even happened to DiskImageMounter?

Once upon a time, I could load old (classic Mac) disk images with DiskImageMounter, which came with the operating system. Now I find that they don't open. DiskUtiiity can't do it. And DiskImageMounter is nowhere to be found.

How can one open these disk images on a modern Mac?
