iCloud music library

i use the iCloud music library. I can see all my playlist and music on my MacBook and iPhones. When I go to my iMac I don’t have any sync library options under preferences. Just to turn on iCloud music. Is that all I need to do? There are a few playlist on the iMac that my wife has made. Will they just be added in?

Oh, yes, you will need to enable iCloud Music Library on the Mac to enable the synchronisation of the library and playlist. You will need to make sure that they are all signed in to the same AppleID.

You can compare the settings on your MacBook with the iMac to check and confirm.

Just to clarify, the iMac is not linked to your wife's AppleID or her own music and playlist? If you sync with your AppleID, all the mucis and playlist on the iMac will be combined with what you have on your iCloud.

I don’t l. Unless that becomes an option once I turn on iCloud music for the iMac. I’m just concerned that it it would over ride my playlists and library from my MacBook. Or should that not be a concern?

you would need to enable Apple Music.

Apple Music will integrate itself to your library, not replace it. Having said that, you should back up all of your CD based music
