Apple TV not loading; showing Apple Logo again and again

My Apple TV was working normally. However, recently I tried to turn it on, and it just kept showing the apple logo, and then black screen. This repeated every 5 seconds indefinitely. The status light kept on blinking.

While this was connected and I would switch to another external device, I would continually get the notification that something was connected to the HDMI that Apple TV was connected to, as if the Apple TV was booting again and again (and this notification would automatically disappear as if the Apple TV was shut down).

I'm not sure whether this is a software problem or not. I tried connected the Apple TV to a Mac (using macOS Catalina) however the Apple TV did not appear in the finder. I'm not sure what's going on! Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple community.

Did you remove all the cables from the Apple TV before connecting it to your computer?

If it still doesn't show up in the finder, you might try opening the music app and seeing if you see it in the side window there.

Failing this, I would see if an Apple store can try for you (assuming they are open in your area.

You should restore the unit. The Apple TV would then appear in the sidebar of a Catalina Finder window. Do read the details on the powering of the unit, and on the required properties of the USB cable.

Yep, I removed all of the cables.

When I connected the computer to my Mac, I did two of the following:

Tried using just a USB-C cable with a Mac.
Tried using a USB-C cable along with power cable into the Apple TV box.

Neither of two seemed to work; I use Catalina, and it didn't show up in the finder, neither did it appear in iTunes (or now the Music app I guess).

That said, thank you so much for your input. Do you have any further suggestions?

Hi, I tried doing that, by connecting the AppleTV to my computer with a USB cable. However, it did not show up in finder. I used a cable that supports data transfer, so I don't think that should be the issue. However, thanks for your input!
