Can’t sign out from Apple ID in child’s iPad !

Hello, I got an iPad for my son. When switched on I set it up using my iPhone , so now everything is on my son’s iPad ! I then went to do the family sharing and I created an Apple ID for him. However I am going now to his iPad -which is logged in with my Apple dID and trying to sign out , and then sign in with his Apple ID but it says “ You cannot sign out of your Apple ID because your iPad has been restored !” What is this and how can I fix the issue please ? Being restored means it is a used iPad ?! I just bought it in a box from Argos !

Please help !

You need to have separate IDs.

Keep in mind that some things available under a first Apple ID will not be available under a new Apple ID. For example, you won’t be able to transfer anything purchased from the App and iTunes Stores to the new ID. And, there are other issues to be addressed.
