l can't seem to back-up my Iphone on my Mac.

I used to be able to quite easily using ITunes - back up my IPhone. It doesn't matter what I do - restart both devices etc etc still the IPhone is not visible under devices on ITunes. It's making me crazy. I used to get the "Trust this Computer" query but now I don't even get that. I would prefer to back up my IPhone on my Mac rather than be extorted into paying for ICloud storage. Please help. I'm running MAC OS High Sierra Version 10. 13. 6 on my mac and my IPhone 8 is running IOS 13.5.1

Hi julianna521,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like iTunes isn’t recognizing your iPhone. We’re happy to help.

You will want to follow the steps below:

If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod - Apple Support

If you use a Mac

  1. Connect your iOS or iPadOS device and make sure that it's unlocked and on the Home screen.
  2. On your Mac, hold down the Option key, click the Apple menu, and choose System Information or System Report.
  3. From the list on the left, select USB.
  4. If you see your iPhone, iPad, or iPod under USB Device Tree, get the latest macOS or install the latest updates. If you don't see your device or still need help, contact Apple Support.

Have a great day!
