Hi mickeymorales,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your iPhone is exhibiting warmer than normal temperature and the battery percentage stopped charging at 85%.

It's important to ensure that your iPhone is operating at normal temperature, along with having a proper charge. We'll be happy to help and point you in the right direction.

You mentioned recently updating your iPhone. There are other scenarios available that can cause your iPhone to get warmer. For example if you're restoring a recent backup or when apps reindex or reanalyze data. Here's a helpful article with additional information: Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures

With regard to the iPhone unresponsive at 85%, when it's charging. You'll want to verify and see if you have, Optimized Battery Charging turned on. This is a feature that will delay your iPhone from charging past 80% in certain situations. This is to help maximize the battery life on your device. Here's additional details: About Optimized Battery Charging on your iPhone If this is a feature you're not interested in having on, you do have the option to turn it off.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Best regards.
